Charities - Heels and Hoops Week
This season's Heels and Hoop Dreams week is December 29 - January 4. However, you may schedule the event any time during the winter break. During this time, NABC Wives members will coordinate the donation of a block of seats during a home game to underprivileged youth in their community. Member wives collaborate with their school and local donors to fund and organize the event. Some wives will arrange for concessions and spirit wear for event participants.
Beyond Heels and Hoop Dreams week, NABC Wives members are encouraged to document their commitment to sponsor a student within Grades 1-6 from a household below the Federal Poverty Guideline. Members will coordinate activities to increase a students' interest in athletics. Suggested activities include donating game tickets or university gear, arranging for a child to attend a basketball practice, arranging for a child to have dinner with a coach or player, arranging for a child to have a one-on-one skill instruction with a coach or player, or other activities to increase a child's enthusiasm about athletics.
